Powering A Cleaner Distribution System
Led by the California Energy Commission’s Fuels and Transportation Division, the OK Produce Lean, Green Produce Machine project, formerly known as GROCER, accelerates the transition to zero-emission freight transportation—reducing harmful emissions while strengthening California’s critical food supply chain.
By deploying large-scale battery-electric Class 8 trucks and supporting infrastructure in Fresno, California, the project demonstrates how clean transportation solutions can deliver environmental, economic, and public health benefits—especially in historically disadvantaged communities.
